United State’s National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has released an enhanced, long-exposure image of the snow-covered Himalayan Mountains. They shared the image on their Instagram account that has stunned netizens around the globe. 

“The highest mountain range in the world, the Himalayas are the result of 50 million years of collisions between the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates,” wrote in an Instagram post.

“South of the range, or to the right from this perspective, lies the agriculturally fertile region of northern India and Pakistan.⁣ North of the range, or to the left from this perspective, is the more arid Tibetan Plateau — the ‘Roof of the World’,” it added.

The photograph reveals bright city lights of New Delhi and Lahore. As shown in the figure, ⁣below the fain orange airglow of the atmospheric particles reacting to solar radiation”. 

NASA has posted the picture on its social media handle along with a long note explaining the picture. A part of the note reads, “The snow-covered Himalayan Mountains are in splendid view in this enhanced, long-exposure image taken by a crew member aboard the @iss.”

Explaining the picture, NASA wrote that the picture has the agriculturally fertile region of northern India. Consequently, Pakistan is visible from the south and Tibetan Plateau .Whereas,  the “Roof of the World is visible from north.” 

NASA: HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE

Meanwhile, NASA’s Hubble space telescope turned 30 this year. So, to celebrate this day, the organization has shared a series of unbelievable pictures. Posting the picture, NASA stated that to mark the momentous day, they are sharing 30 presents. They have wrapped the presents in stars and sprinkled with stardust for the netizens. In addition, NASA also revealed that these gifts can be seen through the backyard telescopes. Moreover people can even spot them with those binoculars that is next to people’s bed.
